Microsoft gaat de strijd aan met Google Docs
Microsoft komt met Docs, een soort van Office Live Worpspace, maar dan in samenwerking met Facebook. Het voordeel hiervan is dat je alle documenten die je maakt met Docs meteen kunt delen met je Facebook vrienden. Fuse Lab heeft deze app voor Facebook in 4 maanden in elkaar gezet en is nu klaar voor een beta sessie. Dus sluit aan achterin de rij en wacht geduldig totdat je aan de beurt bent.
Microsoft heeft nog een achterstand in te halen op Google Docs en speelt daar mooi in door gebruik te maken van het grootste online sociale netwerk. Waarom zouden we nu ineens overstappen van Google Docs naar Docs? Volgens Microsoft is Docs iets unieks:
“There are other services out there that let you create and collaborate on documents. And there are others that support sharing, discussing and discovering documents. But what makes Docs special is it’s the only service that supports the complete document lifecycle. That coupled with seamless integration of Microsoft Office 2010 and Facebook makes Docs the best possible document service for the Facebook environment.”
Wat Microsoft dus eigenlijk zegt is: wij zitten op Facebook, Google Docs niet…
